Hi. Welcome to my home page. I am a teacher of many talents. I have taught at Jim Ned for 11 years, but I was a substitute and volunteer for 10 years before that. My youngest daughter graduated from Jim Ned in 2003. She has 3 precious daughters ages 8, 6 1 1/2. They rule my life! 

I teach Family and Consumer Sciences (changed from Home Economics in 1993). I absolutely love what I teach and think I have the best job in the school! This year I will be teaching 6 courses: Principles of Human Services; Principles of Education and Training; Human Growth and Development; Instructional Practices of Education and Training; Culinary Arts and Family and Community Services. You may explore the individual pages for each of those subjects. 

I also sponsor two career and technology student organizations (CTSOs). FCCLA and TAFE.

FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is my primary organization because it involves all students. Anyone in the high school may participate in FCCLA. It is the only Student-led organization that focuses on Family. It is the Ultimate Leadership Opportunity, as we are student-led at the local, region, state and national levels. FCCLA exists in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. We carry out many service learning opportunities as well as activities that impact our community. AND, we have lots of fun along the way. Students may participate in Competitive Events at the Region, State and National level, earning the opportunity for scholarships as well. 

TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) is the other organization I sponsor. It is specifically related to the Education and Training Career Cluster. It is also a student-led organization at the local, region, state and national levels. This organization is open to any student who is in an education and training course. TAFE also sponsors competitive events at the region, state and national level, allowing students to earn the opportunity of scholarships.
