Troubleshooting
If the board and PC lose communication with each other through the USB connection, do this: turn the board off, wait 20 seconds, turn the board back on and listen for 4 beeps plus a different 5th tone. If this worked, you will see a msg that the board is connected. If this does not fix the problem, check all USB connections and possibly reboot the PC. If you have lost the purple I icon in your taskbar, the device manager has closed and you will need to re-open it by going to Start / Program / eInstruction / Device Manager. Also, if you do have the task bar icon, you can right click and go up to reset to restore communication. However, you usually have to calibrate after doing this. If the "calibrate" tool on the right hand side of your board doesn't seem to work or freezes up, use the calibrate tool located inside of Device Manager.

How can I freeze the picture on the whiteboard for the students and go to other sites or check email on my PC? Use the freeze button on your projector remote--press it a 2nd time to unfreeze.

How can I use the whiteboard to "mark up" a worksheet that is displayed with my Elmo document camera? Run the InterWrite Workspace software and put it in annotate mode.
Troubleshooting
Pen not charging on an Interwrite Pad (pen may need replacing)

Device Manger (yellow circle in the task bar) must be running for pens to work.

The device manager may have gone inactive although it still shows up in the tray.
End the launch.exe process with Control / Alt / Delete and then open Device manager up again through Start programs. Try calllibrating again. If it still does not recognize the pens, you may have to unplug the USB and replug or turn board off and on.

If you want to the check to see whether the board is recognizing pens, touch the board with a pen and look to the lights on the controller to see if the 2nd light is lighting up. The bottom light just means that you are plugged in to power.

Device Manager Does Not Load on Bootup
Do the following steps in order:

1. Search for Device Manager on your Computer using the bottom Search Bar.

2. Select Device Manager. The program should start and the yellow circle icon should display in the taskbar on the bottom right of your screen.
