If the board and PC lose communication with each other through the USB connection, do this: turn the board off, wait 20 seconds, turn the board back on and listen for 4 beeps plus a different 5th tone. If this worked, you will see a msg that the board is connected. If this does not fix the problem, check all USB connections and possibly reboot the PC. If you have lost the purple I icon in your taskbar, the device manager has closed and you will need to re-open it by going to Start / Program / Interwrite / Device Manager. Also, if you do have the task bar icon, you can right click and go up to reset to restore communication. However, you usually have to calibrate after doing this. If the "calibrate" tool on the right hand side of your board doesn't seem to work or freezes up, use the calibrate tool located inside of Device Manager.
