Improving Our Communication!
I prefer that parents and students err on the side of too much communication. Please review the items below to help all of us improve how we work together.
- Face-to-face conversations are always preferable to emails, texts, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
- Sometimes conversations are awkward or uncomfortable. That's OK!
- Last minute conversations, typically at the end of a grading period, seldom allow a student to recover.
- Constructive criticism from parents and students is a good thing.
In short, I encourage parents and students to ...
- be proactive by communicating early and often,
- put the work into having productive conversations, and
- refrain from effortless 'communication' through social media.
You can expect that I will hold myself to the same standards.
Thank you,
David Hogan
