Reading Language Arts

Hi! My name is Mandy Mostad. I teach 5th Grade Reading Language Arts at Jim Ned Intermediate School. This is my 21st year and my second year teaching at Jim Ned! I am so excited to be an Indian again. I graduated from Jim Ned 1996. I am an Angelo State University graduate with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in English.

My husband Michael and I have been married for 25 years and live in Winters. We have 3 children. Marcus is 24 and lives in Lubbock. Mara is 21 and is attending Angelo State University. Morgan is 16, and is a sophomore at JNH!

AR Info

Each six weeks there will be 2 grades taken from Accelerated Reader. One will be the average score from the quizzes and the other grade will depend on the individual student goal for the six weeks. The goal will be determined by the reading level of the student.

Book Reports and Projects

There will be 2 book reports in the first semester, and 2 projects in the 2nd semester including a research project with a paper.

Writing is incorporated into every subject.
