Life Academics Teacher

Hello, my name is Heather Sessums and I am thrilled to be at Jim Ned CISD.

I am a graduate of McMurry University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Curriculum Instruction.  My certifications are Elementary EC-6, Special Education EC-12, and ESL.  I did part of my clinical teaching at Lawn Elementary in Pre-K and Life Academics, then finished at the McMurry Magnet School.  I taught Pre-K for 6 years at Rainbow Bible School in Abilene.  I then went on to get certified and taught 5th grade at Bowie Elementary in Abilene.  I taught Life Academics at Lawn Elementary and now teach Life Academics and Special Education Support at Buffalo Gap Elementary.

I am married with four children.  My girls are Jim Ned graduates classes of 2014 and 2020.  My oldest Shailee is an Occupational Therapist.  Kinsey is in radiology school at Hendricks.  Davin is in 12th and Darik is in 10th at Jim Ned this year.  I also just became a grandmother!  I look forward to an amazing school year and want to thank you for sharing your little blessings with me!
