Our Monday folders this year are RED (girls), and BLUE (boys), and are labeled "Teacher - Parent COMMUNICATOR". These will contain all of the graded papers and notes from the office. All of these papers are yours to keep. Please be sure to check your child's papers as they come home and ask him/her to explain these papers to you. This will keep you informed about what your child is doing and act as a review for what we learned the previous week. If there is a paper with a failing grade and I have written "Please Correct and Return," please have your child correct it and return it for a better grade. If the whole paper isn't correctly corrected, the grade will stay the same.
Our conduct sheet will be in the left inside pocket labeled, "Return to School", along with anything else that needs to come back the next day. Please sign the Conduct Report to show that you have seen it and the contents of the folder, and help your child remember to bring the folder back to school on Tuesday!
The students get table points and tickets for bringing homework and Monday folders back on time, but there is no punishment for not bringing it back the next day. If something gets left at home, it's best not to run it up for your child-if you can help it! :) Usually it takes once or twice of them not getting table points, and they'll remember the next time! When they know that someone is at their disposal to bring forgotten items up anytime, they don't learn that it's up to THEM to put important items back in their backpacks each morning.
Citizenship grades will depend on the number of conduct marks each six weeks.
