7th Grade Science

Course Description:

7th Grade Science is a blend of all sciences. We will cover simple chemistry, simple physics, Earth Science, and a small portion of Life Science.

Classroom Rules and Procedures:

• Respect yourself and others.
• Be to class on time. Otherwise you will be considered tardy.
• Follow instructions and respond appropriately.
• Bring all materials to class and be ready to work when the bell rings.
• Stay in your designated seat until the bell rings.
  
  

Materials

In order for you to be successful, you will need to bring these materials to class daily.

• Pen, Pencil, Colored Pencils, Science book (provided), 2 inch 3 ring binder.

Every student is to keep a notebook to help retain all the work done in class.  The purpose of the notebook is to help you stay organized as well as help you keep up with your progress in this class.  It will also serve as a great study tool when preparing for exams. 

Grading:

• 50%- Test
  
• 30%- Quizzes/Labs
  
• 20%- Daily Work

Late Work:

Late work will be accepted with penalty.  Penalty for turning work in late will be as follows: 1 day late - 10 points off, 2 days late - 20 points off, 3 days late - 30 points off, more than 3 days late - 0.  

Corrections

Tests can be corrected for half credit back.  Corrections have to be done in the classroom during a tutorial time.  This offer has a 1 week time limit on completing the corrections.

Cheating

Cheating WILL NOT be tolerated in my class.  If you are caught, you will receive a ZERO and will not be allowed to make-up the grade.

Absence Policy

If you are absent from class due to sickness or family circumstances, you will have one day for every day you were absent to complete the required assignments.  Please remember it is your responsibility to get the make-up work when you return.  If you are absent due to a school sponsored event or prearranged event, it is necessary for you to ask for the assignments before your scheduled absence, unless arrangements have been make with me.  Missed tests, quizzes, and labs must be made up.

Conference           

Parents if you feel the need to meet regarding your child please feel free to set up a time during my conference period.

Cell Phone Policy

Students will not be allowed to be on their cell phone during class time unless permitted so by the teacher. Failure to abide by these rules will result in their cell phone being taken up by the teacher and turned into the office. Students must pay $10 to get their phone back from the office.
