Howdy, my name is Wendi Payne.
This year will be my 26th year to teach third grade at Lawn. Actually, I have been an Indian at heart since before I started Kindergarten. My mother taught in the district for 42 years. My husband, my daughter, my son, my daughter-in-law, my son-in-law, my brother, my sister-in-law, my five cousins and I all graduated from Jim Ned High. Needless to say, I am a tad bit biased and very proud to be a Jim Ned Indian!
After graduating from Jim Ned, I attended Texas Tech University and Hardin-Simmons University. I graduated in 1998 with a BBS. I am certified to teach Early Childhood, first through fifth grade general education and sixth through eighth grade reading. I am currently responsible for teaching math. I also spend a great deal of time focusing on student's ability to problem solve and make good choices. I feel these are important life skills.
Every year is new and exciting. Some curriculum requirements do stay the same from year to year. However, each new class brings a new set of individuals with different strengths and needs. Therefore, every year is a little different.
Most of all I enjoy working with the children and being part of a terrific team. It’s GREAT to be a Jim Ned Indian!!!
