Christmas Concert December 16 @ 1:00 pm HS Gym

As the third six weeks commences and Thanksgiving sneaks up on us, it is time to get information out on the Christmas concert.  The middle school Christmas concert will be December 16 at 1:00 pm in the high school gym.  With our concert being in the gym instead of on the stage in the cafeteria, everyone will be able to watch their child as we perform our musical selections.  We are all very excited to show you what we are working on!

We will be having our tacky Christmas sweater competition again this year.  I have heard from Mr. Bailey and several students that this is a super fun part of the Christmas concert, and I am looking forward to seeing what kinds of sweaters show up!  The top three students in the 6th grade band and the 7th/8th grade band will receive prizes.  If your child does not wish to participate in the tackiness, they can wear nice clothes for this performance.

Below you will find all of the important times regarding this performance.  Please let me know ASAP if there are any conflicts!

Band Fees

We are asking for a $30 band fee to cover your child's band supplies this year.  The fee will cover your child's band shirt, techniques book, and all of the supplies they will need to maintain their instrument.

Forms

There are two forms under the "Forms" tab I need you to fill out.  The first is a general information and health form.  This is so we have all of the necessary information to take care of your child in the event of an injury while on a band trip.  The second form is an instrument checkout form, which will allow your child to use a school instrument.

Band Fees

We are asking for a $30 band fee to cover your child's band supplies this year.  The due date for those is October 19th.  The fee will cover the new band shirt as well as all of the supplies your child will need to maintain their instrument.  

 

Fundraiser - Coupon Books

We will be doing the coupon book fundraiser again this year.  This fundraiser can be used to pay your band fees as well as the spring trip to NRH2O.  Each will be $30, coming to a total of $60.  Your child will earn $10 for every book sold, so if they can sell six books it will cover the cost of their band fees and their trip.  However many books they sell goes towards account.

 

Jazz Band

We will be doing auditions for the Middle School Jazz Band during study hall the week of September 10th.  The jazz band will meet during study hall one to two days a week and have their first concert on November 13th.  I will post more information on this soon!
