My name is Mrs. Lockley. I am so excited to be a Jim Ned Indian!

 

I am an Angelo State University graduate with a degree in Secondary Art Education. My husband, Mitch, and I have 3 beautiful children. All of them graduated as Jim Ned Indians! Mackenzie, Hunter and Tyler all work and live in Abilene. I LOVE having my family close by!

 

Art is my passion and besides my family, nothing makes me happier than helping student's discover a love of Art and see the beauty in the world around them.

We will be creating our own Smash Journals this year. They will incorporate many different techniques and media. Each 6 weeks we will add several pages to our book for a daily grade.  At the end of the year, we will bind all the pages we make including any artworks (that fit) to create a portfolio of the year for each student.

Art 2

Art 2 focuses on the Principles of Design, art vocabulary, critiquing works of art, periods of art history, different cultures of art and careers in design.

Specifically we will study: balance, emphasis, proportion, unity, rhythm, pattern and variety.  Throughout the year different medium and techniques will be used such as pencil, paint, color pencil, and mix media. 
 

Art 3

Art 3 reviews all the Elements and Principles of Design by studying different periods of Art History.

Specifically we will review: line, shape, form, texture, color, value, space, balance, emphasis, proportion, unity, rhythm, pattern and variety. Throughout the year different medium and techniques will be used such as pencil, paint, color pencil, and mix media.
