Letter from a veteran, November 30, 2009:
Mrs. Bowden, Just a note to say thanks to you and your teachers for the Veteran's Day program that you put on. It was wonderful and exciting. It's great to know that the children of the Jim Ned school district will always remember the sacrifices that the American Veterans did. Most communities around the country could care less, but not Lawn Elementary. And, let us not forget the meal! Truly delicious, my hats off to the cafeteria workers!
Again, thank you from the heart, not only from myself, but also from the veterans of this area. We stand a little taller knowing that the children understand and care what many of thousands of servicemen and women have done.
